8 Reasons Why Networking with People is Good for Your Business

I can find more reasons than 8 why Networking is Good for your business because there are literally a lot to learn if you know how to leverage and build a good network from other people but today I just wanna share some to you. These are some experience I personally have and some that I learned from reading books and from my mentors.

Build a strong connection – There’s no better way to start your business but by connecting to people, friends and clients to have a stable and growing business.  Remember that while you are still new and wet on the ears, you will need all the help you can get. This is the essential reason for networking. The more people you know, the more recommendations you will get. Successful businesses are built on connecting to your friends, business partners and clients.

Learn people relationship – We know that there are a lot of different kinds of people out there and knowing how to build a good relationship with people will really get you far. Well of course you won’t be able to please all the people that you will meet and this is part of your learning curve but the more people you were able to help, the more success will come your way in the future. Networking with people expose you to different kind of people with different personality and will teach you how to handle different people like how to find what they like, needs, wants and this thing will help you in the future when you find the same trait for the people you are talking to and it will be much easier to connect with them. It will be hard at first but the more you expose yourself to people, the more you will be more comfortable with them and build a good relationship with different kind of people.
Seek great advise from successful people - Networking helps you find people with lots of business experience who are often very willing to share their knowledge with you. Successful business people are usually generous with advice particularly with people open to listening. They can share their knowledge, perspective and how they started and worked their way to the top. They can guide you and we know the fastest way to get to the top is to learn from people who are already there and who have made it.

Find Inspiration - we all know that whatever your goal is, you will always have to find inspiration on what you are doing and why you are doing it. Being alone in times that you are down will get you off track of your goal and will slow you down to what you want to accomplish in your business or in your life. Building a network with the same interest and mindset will help you stay motivated when it seems like you are not getting anywhere. Sharing your ups and down and how your friends were able to overcome their problem will inspire you even if people doesn’t offer you a solution. As long as you know that you are not alone, you will know that what you’ve experiencing is a normal process. You just need to get over it quickly and move on to the next alternative solution or find another way to reach your goal and be successful.

Improving your communication skills – Who would have thought that I'll be doing an online
presentation. Will networking improve my communication skills? Definitely Yes! Another good thing that you will learn from Netwoking is improving you communication. A lot of people lack the knowledge to talk to people and deliver what they want to convey to other people due to some difference or it can be because of language barrier and fear of rejection when one states their own opinion. With Networking, you will be force to address this problem. I’m a Filipino and English is my second language, there are times that it is very intimidating to talk to people who are really good at English but if you want to grow your business and pursue personal development then you need to improve your communication skills. Learning and improving your vocabulary and communication skill is a very good thing to learn since you can express more of yourself and people will get comfortable to you if they can see who you are and what are your intentions. It also gives you the freedom of self expression.

Making great new friends – Do I need to emphasize on this? Yes, networking can help you make great friends. You will find people who will grow you, people who you will grow and mold, people who you can trust in times of needs and people who will be there for you. Some people say that in doing your business, it is better to do it yourself. Yes this is true if you’re the person who likes to micromanage all the small things and want to personally get all the things done by themselves which is good for a small business. But in building a big business, you will not be able to do it alone. Eventually, you will need to find people who can help you and what is the best way to find help? It is by networking to other people and finding not just business partners and clients, but by finding great friends that will be there to help you and get things done.

      Understand the Business Opportunities
Networking is a good and great way to broaden your thinking and to find new ideas to find potential clients or see different target markets that you hadn’t thought of. People you meet from networking often can help you to identify new market opportunities you might not have thought of. Some people you meet may offer synergies with what you do. Meeting other business people and talking about business is a fantastic way of learning new ways to do business. Every business is different and all business people have their own ideas. Finding out how people in other industries, other markets or with different products get business helps you to generate new ideas and perhaps adapt other people’s innovations to your own business.
Networking can help you shift Your Mind from the Employee Mindset to the Entrepreneur Mindset
Do you have the mindset of an employee or an entrepreneur? If you are an employee definitely you will not have the mindset of an entrepreneur. You will only think of today of how you will survive and how you will be able to let the time pass by and provide to yourself and family. But this road is common to everyone, isn’t it great if you can have more and provide to your family? Business is a risk and getting out of the employee mindset is really difficult as people are uncertain if things will really go their way. But remember, when you were young did you think to yourself when you try to walk, “What if I fall and hurt myself?”. How about when doing your first bicycle ride, “What if I slam on a tree or fall to the ground?”
Did you ever think like that when you were young? Did you ever think that you will not be able to walk or ride a bike?  With networking you get to learn different ideas, perspective, ways to handles things and direct you to the proper tools you need to run your business.
In building a business, good networking with people and the courage to take on the first step and go on with it even if you fail will help you later soon enough in your business when you are able to grasp all the knowledge you need to run a business and stand on your own. Taking the first step and doing a consistent follow-up of your goals and dreams will help you build your business and the unwavering will and spirit not to give up even when face with different adversities and struggles in life.

And that's about it. Successful business networking is about what you can do for other people. And, you need to trust that, in some way, someday, somehow, maybe in the most unexpected, unpredictable way, what goes around comes around. It never fails. Most importantly, if you focus on this secret as you approach your business networking opportunities, you will calm your butterflies and shine as you interact with new acquaintances and people. Removing the focus from yourself and how you feel, on how you look, what the people will think of you – is the most powerful networking secret I can give to you. Make business networking all about them and you will benefit beyond your wildest dreams.
